Richard A. Suhar PE CMfgE

 

Licensed as a professional engineer since 1997, Richard A. Suhar PE CMfgE, has over 20 years of engineering and management experience in a variety of manufacturing and service environments. In his work with Professional Systems Engineering of Lansdale, Pa, Dick has managed Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) project design, implementation and validation services in governmental facilities across the country. These projects involved Life Safety and Electronic Security in Correctional Facilities and Courthouses using leading edge technologies. Locally, Dick is Project Manager for Security Electronics Systems in the Lehigh County Court House renovation and expansion.

Dick has been actively involved in adult education at the University of Phoenix Philadelphia Campus. Dick has had the unique opportunity to work with students involved in the application of quantitative analysis coursework to their work environment. Dick facilitates course work in the MBA and Undergraduate Business Programs.

Via his involvement with Lehigh University STEM Conferences and professional society memberships, Dick continues to keep abreast of emerging technologies and management techniques. Dick is an advocate and practitioner of life long learning. Past technical societies activities include holding leadership positions in American Society for Metals, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and Lehigh Valley Engineers Council. Dick continues to support youth involvement in science and engineering with Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and the Lehigh Valley Science Fair.

While not pursuing engineering, Dick’s hobby is Amateur Radio. He holds an Amateur Extra Class ticket and operates station K8WHA. The most rewarding part of Dick’s life has been his 41 year marriage to Christine. They have been blessed with David and Kimberly and grandchildren Cassandra, Kalina, and Keith.
