Alan R. Fornwalt, P.E.  -  Young Engineer of the Year 2007




The Lehigh Valley Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers has selected Alan R. Fornwalt, P.E. as Young Engineer of the Year for 2007.  Fornwalt is a Project Engineer at Keystone Consulting Engineers, Inc. in Wescosville, PA.  He received his education at Lehigh University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 1998 and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Engineering in 2004.  At Keystone Consulting Engineers, Fornwalt performs municipal reviews of land development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial development as well as complicated transportation projects. 


In 2007, Fornwalt worked on several noteworthy projects in the Lehigh Valley.  He served as Project Engineer on the intersection improvements project at East Texas Road/ Willow Road and Lower Macungie Road in Lower Macungie Township.  He also served as Project Engineer for the SR 100 Railroad Track Grade Crossing between Schantz Road and Penn Drive to add two additional lanes on SR 100.  Currently, Fornwalt is working on the design and right-of-way acquisition for the SR 100 Widening between Schantz Road and I-78 in Upper Macungie Township. 


Fornwalt is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Lehigh Valley Section and serves as a Director for the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.
